LIVE VIDEO at 4pm EST: “You Can Kill A Revolutionary But You Can’t Kill The Revolution! Raise Up the African Martyr!” on African Resistance Now
THIS WEEK’S TOPIC: “You Can Kill a Revolutionary But You Can’t Kill the Revolution! Raise Up the African Martyr!”
Feat. APSP Chairman Omali Yeshitela and InPDUM President Diop Olugbala
February 21st is “The Day of the African Martyr.”
The State tries to prevent Africans from resisting our oppression by using death, or the threat of death, to intimidate us. The State points to examples of its brutality like Malcolm X and Martin Luther King. The State says, “See, if you try to fight back, this is what will happen to you. You will end up dead like Malcolm.”
The reality is that African people are being killed whether we join the revolution or not. Africans like Amadou Diallo, Aiyana Jones and Sean Bell were never part of the revolution, but they were still murdered by the police.
The only time when Africans have a chance at surviving as a people is when we get organized to resist against our oppressor.
The International Peoples Democratic Uhuru Movement (InPDUM) believes that African people should emulate African martyrs who fought and died for our liberation.
InPDUM believes that Africans must resist our oppression by any means necessary.
This is why, during the upcoming episode of African Resistance Now, we will celebrate African martyrs day.
InPDUM celebrates the stance of resistance taken by revolutionaries of the past.
InPDUM also celebrates the resistance of individuals like Hydra Lacey and Lovelle Mixon, because, as Chairman Omali Yeshitela tells us “these are individuals who need to be understood by our community and Martyr’s Day allows us to politicize their deaths as martyrs, notwithstanding their lack of political and organizational affiliations and consolidated belief.”
This episode of ARN is being held in anticipation of InPDUM’s upcoming International Convention, the theme of which is “One Africa, One Nation!” The convention will happen on March 23-24. At the convention InPDUM will address issues such as the war on the African community and the right of African people to defend ourselves and resist colonial violence, and much more!
