What We Want! What We Believe!

Applied African Internationalism

1. We demand all rights consistent with being a free people, rights which include self-determination and self-government as the highest expression of genuine democracy. We demand independence in our lifetime.
2. We demand international democratic rights and self-determination for African people throughout the world.
3. We demand the establishment of a united, patriotic and independent African government of workers and peasants aligned with the progressive and democratic forces of the African nation.
4. We unite with building the African Socialist International as the revolutionary advanced detachment and general staff of the international African working class that is the essential requirement for the African working class, working in its own self-interests, to lead the struggle for the liberation and unification of Africa and African people worldwide.
5. We recognize African Internationalism, the revolutionary political theory of the African working as the worldview that correctly informs the struggle to end the colonial domination Africans suffer around the world:

a. Capitalism is parasitic and imperialistic, and has been from its earliest inception.
b. Historically Africa contained not only great resources but great civilizations. These civilizations and resources were – and continue to be -systematically attacked, raped and exploited by imperialism. Not only the slave trade but the rape of the Continent of Africa itself is the cornerstone on which North American and European wealth rests.
c. Parasitic capitalism provides the material basis for the white nationalism and “racism” of the white working class which enthusiastically upholds and carries out U.S. colonial policy. It is also the material basis for the opportunism of the white left, which has historically sold out and betrayed the African anticolonial struggle repeatedly throughout history the white left, itself a product of the oppressor nation, is equally white nationalist, parasitic and opportunist as the white working class population in general. In many instances it has been more vicious and destructive to the Black Liberation movement than overt white nationalist attacks.
d. Anti-colonial struggles led by the working class to overthrow the pedestal of imperialism– are key to the destruction of imperialism.
e. Africans in the U.S., strategically located inside current U.S. borders as a domestic colony, are part of the world-wide African liberation struggle and are the leading force against U.S. imperialism within.
f. There cannot be a revolutionary struggle without a vanguard party of the black working class and the participation of the masses of the people in the revolution under the leadership of such a party.

6. We call on Africans at home and abroad in Europe, North America, the Caribbean, and elsewhere to support all genuine resistance by Africans worldwide and to struggle to help these resistance efforts achieve coherence and effectiveness by winning them to principles and organization of the African Socialist International.
7. We stand firmly opposed to neo-colonialism or white power in black face. We recognize that this is nothing but a strategy put in place by imperialism to undermine our efforts towards achieving genuine self government and the independence of socialist democracy.
8. We stand firmly opposed to the political parties and organizations which represent the interests of the international white ruling class, imperialism and neo-colonialism. These parties include but are not limited to the Democratic Party, Republican Party, Labour Party, the All People’s Congress Party of Sierra Leone, the African National Congress of South Africa and others.
9. As a colonized component of the dispersed African nation, Africans colonized in the US are compelled to say to Africans and the peoples of the world that the views and actions of U.S. President Barack Obama are not representative of the views, interests, and aspirations of the African working class and toiling masses of Africans within the U.S.
10. We demand freedom of religion, press, and the right to free speech, assembly, and political association with any group and/or anywhere in the world that has been determined by our people to be beneficial to our struggle for revolutionary national democracy.
11. We recognize all African people throughout Africa and the world as comprising one African nation that has been forcibly dispersed and impoverished by slavery, colonialism and other machinations of imperialism.
12. We demand the immediate removal of borders separating our brothers and sisters from each other – The borders must come down not only because they validate an imperialist definition of our identity as separate people to our disadvantage, but also because the borders restrict us to an economy that will never be large enough to provide for our needs and transform our situation.
13. We demand the recognition of the right of return for all African people displaced and dispersed from Africa by slavery, colonialism and other attacks on Africa as a whole by imperialism.
14. We call on all existing African governments to demand protection for and protest violations of the rights of African people living in European dominated countries around the world.

State Power

15. We call on African people around the world to participate in or support the struggle for the seizure of state power in Africa from the clutches of neocolonial servants of imperialism that have acceded power and the national resources of Africa to foreign corporations and imperialist countries.
16. We demand African community control of the police in our oppressed and exploited communities in the domestic colonies of North and South America, the Caribbean and Europe.
17. As a serious component of the struggle to achieve state power, we call on Africans throughout the world to unite with the ASI-established International Tribunal, founded in 1982 as the first session of the International Tribunal on Reparations for African people in the U.S. The International Tribunal is the basis of our incipient revolutionary national democratic state power wherein Africans will conduct our own trials and hearings in the quest for justice within our colonized communities and achieve justice in issues between Africans in the U.S. and other imperialist states and citizens.
18. We demand African community control of schools, police, and all the institutions of coercive colonial state power that wreak perennial havoc within our colonized community.
19. We demand the immediate withdrawal of the terroristic police and military troops from the African Community and their replacement with African liberation forces whose struggles in defense of our community against our oppression demonstrate their loyalty to our community and their willingness to serve in its interest.
20. The arrest and punishment of all neo-colonial sell out heads of government and their collaborators who have made deals, made behind the backs of our people, have contributed to the ability of the imperialists to transfer the national wealth of the people to foreign lands where it serves the needs of others at our expense.
21. The neo-colonial armies throughout Africa must be dismantled, restructured and united and centralized under the leadership of a democratic national revolutionary committee of patriotic officers, including non-commissioned officers and soldiers. The army must be transformed into servants of the people and not our oppressors. All forces who have committed crimes and human rights abuses against the people must be removed and face judgment before people’s tribunals.
22. All military checkpoints must be removed – all policies allowing for extortion of money (sometimes under the guise of traffic tickets) by colonial and neo-colonial police, armies and governments at checkpoints and the demand for identification papers specifying ethnicity, address, warrant status and other colonial categories must be ended. Such police, armies and governments include the various U.S. and European police forces, the paramilitary death squads in Colombia, the neo-colonial South African police and the neo-colonial army of Sierra Leone.
23. Removal of all “foreign” military and intelligence agencies and bases in Africa and African communities ¬¬– including the U.S. led AFRICOM, French paratroopers, the thousands of British troops, U.S. intelligence organizations, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), in Sierra Leone and other African countries to protect the interests of imperialism must be removed immediately. These forces are in our homeland and in our communities to protect the system of colonialism and neocolonialism and to guarantee that the resources of our people will never be returned to us for our own use to solve our own problems. They must be expelled and replaced by our own worker-peasant led military forces.
24. We recognize the Northern Command or Northcom, the thousands of battle-hardened troops stationed at Fort Stewart, Georgia and NORAD, the North American-wide extension of NORTHCOM, as counterinsurgent preemption to frustrate the efforts of Africans and others of the oppressed nations within current U.S. and North American borders to win our liberation, and demand their immediate elimination.
25. We claim the national right to self-defense and recognize that in our struggle for self-determination and national liberation any act of resistance is self-defense, whether initiated or responsive.
26. We demand an apology to African people of the U.S. and the world for U.S. involvement in the harassment, overthrow, imprisonment and assassinations of African leaders including Marcus Garvey, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King Jr., Lawrence Mann, Kwame Nkrumah, Jean-Bertrand Aristide, all members of the Black Panther Party, as well as members of the Black Liberation Army and countless others within the U.S. and elsewhere.
27. We also demand full disclosure of the direct or indirect role of the U.S. government in the assassinations of African leaders Patrice Lumumba of Congo Kinshasa, Robert Sobukwe of South Africa and Walter Rodney of Guyana.
28. We demand the immediate removal of all U.S. intelligence and military forces from African territory, including, Djibouti, the Diego Garcia military installation and the Africa Command or AFRICOM (the U.S. military command formed to prevent revolution and African unification) and oppose foreign competition, especially by China, to U.S. economic and strategic interests in Africa.
29. We call for the establishment of committees of workers, peasants and students to control the appointment of police officials, legal and penal authorities.
30. We recognize that the justice systems of North American and European domestic colonialism function as a tool of colonial domination of African people and demand immediate transformation that includes:

a. An immediate, transparent, community controlled investigation of the court processes that have resulted in the highly disproportionate number of incarcerated African people, especially young African men;
b. All trials of African people to be heard by juries of our peers, African people from like communities and classes;
c. The immediate abrogation of designer laws, such as three strikes, stop and frisk, two-tiered drug charges, mandatory minimums, and so-called anti-gang initiatives that target African people. We demand that reparations be paid to those imprisoned by these and other such discriminatory colonial laws and the immediate release of all prisoners convicted under these laws.
d. An immediate cessation of the practice of trying African juveniles as adults and imprisoning them in adult institutions;
e. An immediate cessation of the massive imprisonment of African children in juvenile concentration camps, their release, and an end to the capture of and trade in African children through the foster care system;
f. Recognition of prisons and detentions centers in the U.S. and Europe as concentration camps for our colonized population, and that such colonial domination of our people makes all Africans imprisoned in the U.S. political prisoners, regardless of the charges against them;
g. The immediate release of all conscious African political prisoners, including those who were arrested because of political actions or statements, or who were first arrested for violations of colonial laws, and subsequently became politically active in the cause of our liberation;
h. Immediate cessation of use of the death penalty and a transparent, internationally supervised investigation of every conviction of an African sentenced to death;
i. A transparent, internationally-supervised investigation of every police killing of an African person within the last 10 years and every controversial police killing of an African regardless of the time that has passed since the killing, with police found to be guilty of murder to be duly punished within the full capacity of the law and reparations paid to their families.
j. We recognize that the North American and European justice system functions as a tool of colonial domination of African people and as a form of capitalist extraction for the benefit of the white ruling class and general white population, and demand immediate transformation that includes reparations for the economic exploitation of the African community in the form of prison slave labor.

31. We recognize that the neo-colonial justice systems that function within colonized territories around the world are extensions of the North American and European imperialist state apparatus and therefore will never function in the genuine interests of African workers, peasants and true patriots:
32. We demand the immediate and unconditional release of all African political prisoners and prisoners of conscience in Africa and throughout the world.
33. We stand in complete unity with our brothers and sisters in Kenya in recognition of the heroic revolutionary stance of the Kenyan Land and Freedom Army, or Mau Mau, and its leader Dedan Kimathi who gave the African world the slogan demand of Uhuru in the struggle against British colonialism.

REPARATIONS/ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

34. We demand the nationalization and unification of strategic components of the international African working class economy.
35. We demand the exemption of all African people within North America and elsewhere from paying taxes to the U.S. and other imperialist governments which these oppressor nations use to further enable our colonial domination as well as the military domination of colonized and oppressed peoples around the world. Such domination includes mercenaries who operate in the interests of U.S. imperialism, which are funded by U.S. tax dollars.
36. We demand the immediate expansion of public works throughout the African continent and world, which is needed for the purpose of urgently carrying out planned programs for solving the housing crisis, constructing roads, railways, telecommunications and other necessary aspects of the infrastructure of Africa and African communities.
37. We demand reparations to African people from the imperialist countries and corporations for hundreds of years of parasitic exploitation of our labor, land and resources.
38. We demand full disclosure of all non African and/or foreign economic activity by the U.S. government and North American corporations throughout all of Africa.
39. We call on African people around the world to unite in the building of Black Star Industries, the economic engine of the African Socialist International which aims to liberate and unite the African economy.
40. We demand the cancellation of all debt contracted by previous governments of all countries in Africa and restitution of all money paid, with interest.
41. We call for an immediate end to the French colonial pact and all colonial and parasitic economic arrangements imposed on Africa to facilitate the theft of African labor and resources by imperialism.
42. We demand the nationalization of the entire hydrocarbon sector of the economy– This is to guarantee national sovereignty over all aspects relating to the energy industry.
43. We demand government support and protection for domestic producers in Africa – allocation of resources to support domestic production by developing a strategic economic plan that will help local producers to provide for a domestic market and protect them from unfair competition from imperialist corporations and governments.
44. We demand the return of the ill-gotten money that has come as a consequence of these deals and that sits in the banks and real estate of England and other imperialist countries.
45. We Demand transformation of the existing financial and taxation systems in order to regulate the activity and financial role of banks. Promote domestic development. Democratize credit and provide free access to financing.
46. An immediate campaign to electrify all of Africa and African communities around the world and to guarantee that the people have access to clean water that can be piped to their communities.
47. We demand living wages for all workers.
48. We demand an end to the political economy of the counterinsurgency: the parasitic relationship that benefits the white population with billions of dollars for jobs, resources, and a stabilized economy off of the U.S. counterinsurgency against African people in the U.S.
49. We demand an end to the public policy of police containment and military occupation of African communities and countries worldwide which are implemented under the guise of war on terror, drugs, gangs, etc. We demand their replacement with a public policy of economic development through massive capital infusion that would be used to uplift the entire community by supporting existing African businesses, establishing new African businesses, including cooperatives and the overall industrialization of Africa and African communities which promotes the needs and interests of our oppressed and exploited communities, thereby contributing to the general self-reliance of the African community.
50. We call on all African engineers, scientists and health care workers to join with the All African People’s Development and Empowerment Project to work for the revolutionary development of Africa and overcome the deprivations in economic development, healthcare and social progress stemming from imperialism and neocolonialism.

Schools and Education

51. We demand free, compulsory and comprehensive education for all Africans wherever we are located. Such an education program must equip Africans for independent, self-reliant prosperity in this technologically driven era, and is based on our true history as African people who bring the totality of our own legitimate culture and experiences to the educational process.
52. We demand free access to the educational opportunities offered to Africans by countries like Cuba, as well as U.S. and other imperialist and neo-colonial governments’ recognition of the legitimacy of such education.

Health Care

53. We demand immediate, free healthcare for all Africans in the U.S. to deal with the colonially-based plethora of illnesses and diseases that afflict our people subsequent to slavery and colonialism, and the continued abrogation of our right to self-determination.
54. We demand an immediate end to the U.S. biological warfare waged against the African population throughout the world through the engineered spreading of viruses such as AIDS/HIV, the flu, sickle cell, etc.
55. Clinics and healthcare must be made available for all our people, especially workers and rural and agricultural communities. Also, healthcare workers must receive payment for their work. All efforts must be made to convince healthcare workers to dedicate their skills to the struggle of the workers, peasants and impoverished masses to improve the conditions of our people.
56. Initiate an immediate campaign of mosquito eradication. The number of our people, especially children, who die from malaria, seriously undermines our capacity as a people. It affects the productivity of our workers and poor peasants and the morale of our families who continue to have loved ones incapacitated or killed by disease, causing even greater burdens for our impoverished population. An effective mosquito eradication campaign based in the masses can have an immediate impact on the quality of life for Africans in Sierra Leone.

Housing and Land

57. We call for the establishment of an international commission for community control of housing and land that would lead the resistance against imperialism’s attempts to displace African populations and communities from specific geographic locations historically tied to those communities. The work of this commission would be carried out with recognition and unity of the struggles of the indigenous peoples of the Americas right to control of their own land.
58. We demand immediate reparations for African farmers, homeowners, public housing tenants and peasants who have been victimized by the land theft and destruction of historically geographic African communities and territories. We demand an end to the military and economic warfare employed by imperialism to facilitate this theft – from the gentrification of Brixton and Peckham, London, to the discriminatory laws and practices used against African homeowners in Harlem to the African poor peasants and workers of Colombia and South Africa who face constant attack by military forces in those places.

Political and social oppression and economic exploitation of African Women

59. We commit ourselves to the relentless struggle for the rights and dignity of African women and the end of social and political oppression. We adamantly oppose sexual and economic exploitation of African women by any sources, including our own colonized community. We demand the recognition of African women as equal partners and leaders in the struggle for the emancipation and unification of Africa and African people worldwide. We demand an immediate end to the particular abuse of African women colonial system. We recognize that this abuse has always included rape and subjugation by the white slave master and an attempt by white power to separate African women from African men. The oppression of African women includes forcible subjugation to the degrading U.S. “Welfare” system, which makes participation in the criminalization of African men a pre-requisite for receiving a tiny pittance. We demand an end to this degradation, as well as other forms of oppression, such as forcible sterilization through Norplant and other means, the theft of African babies from their mothers, the subjugation of African children to brutal, militarized school system, and the massive imprisonment of sons, husbands and fathers of African women. We believe in the absolute unequivocal, political, social and economical equality of African women and men. We demand an end to the special oppression of African women and the elevation of women to their rightful place as equal partners and leaders in forward motion of the development of African liberation as leaders, makers and shapers of human history.
60. We call for the establishment of an International African Women’s Commission under democratic revolutionary process and government that would advance the struggle for the complete and total emancipation of African women.

a) Free access to technical and industrial skills for African women to gain the abilities to engage in labor.

b) Independence from all state, federal and other forms of “public assistance” and/or welfare with access to all resources which sustain economic development projects in the African communities.

c) Free medical facilities and nutritional meals for all pregnant mothers and their children.

d) Free continuous education and professional training to young mothers.

e) Free loans for women who wish to build cooperative farming or, or any other productive activity, particularly in rural areas.

f) A national commission to assess and monitor all local and national forms violence against African women, with the power to take to courts all perpetrators.

g) Massive reeducation of all society on the role, rights and necessity to elevate the status of African women in

h) Implementation of a childcare as leaders and producers in society.

61. We demand that all forms of “adoption” of African children by whites around the world be categorized as kidnapping and considered genocide under international law.

62. We demand an end to the theft, kidnapping, sale, abuse and removal of African children from their communities under the genocidal foster care system throughout the world.

IMMIGRATION

63. We demand the removal of borders that have been imposed on the African continent by imperialism, and freedom to travel freely throughout the world and within Africa itself.
64. We demand an end to the discriminatory, humiliating and expensive immigration laws and procedures that limit or prohibit African entry into all of North America, Canada and Europe, suggesting that slavery is the primary legal process permissible for entry into these countries by Africans from Africa and the rest of the African world.
65. We demand free and uncomplicated entry by Africans into all of North America, Canada and Europe from any part of the world. We demand travel rights comparable to the freedom of entry enjoyed by U.S. citizens traveling to Africa and other African-governed locations.

INTERNATIONALISM

66. We call for solidarity with the struggles of Africans and other oppressed peoples struggling for liberation and justice throughout the world.
67. We stand in unconditional solidarity with the Palestinian people in their struggle against the Israeli white nationalist settler state that functions as a military outpost for U.S. and international white imperialist power.
68. At the same time we denounce those Palestinians who emigrate to the imperialist centers of North America and Europe and, in their business and commercial dealings, treat African people in the same demeaning, disrespectful, and dehumanizing manner that Palestinians are treated by Israeli settlers in Occupied Palestine.
69. While the struggle of African people in North America is recognized as an important front of the international African revolution, we also understand that our struggle is part and parcel of the revolutionary impulse of the Americas.
70. We stand in complete unity with the indigenous peoples of North America and South America in their struggle to reclaim their land from the settler colonialists of the U.S. and Canada and the semi-colonial state and ruling class of Mexico.
71. We unite with the revolutionary trajectory of South America that is exemplified by the governments of Venezuela, Bolivia, Ecuador, Nicaragua, and Cuba.
72. We demand an immediate end to the punitive, decade’s long counter-insurgent economic quarantine of Cuba by the U.S. government and its allies and lackeys.
73. We demand the immediate release of the Cuban 5 from U.S. custody and call for the return to the Cuban government of Guantanamo Bay, upon which the U.S. government has established a Marine base and concentration camp.

Religion and Culture

74. We demand recognition of the legitimacy of African culture and denounce all acts and practices by the oppressor nations, governments, and other institutions that are used to justify the oppression and exploitation of African people and the African nation through cultural disparagement.
75. We call on African artists and cultural workers to join in this struggle by demanding reparations that would contribute to a cultural revolution, promoting the liberation and unification of Africa and African people and the implementation of this Revolutionary National Democratic Program.
76. We are opposed to and committed to struggle against any denial of rights and any oppression of Africans because of sexual orientation.
77. We demand the disclosure and return of all the art and cultural artifacts looted from Africa by colonial powers and imperialist nationals that are now housed in museums and private hands in Europe and North America.
